TUoA Services

TUoA offers a personal, bespoke approach to helping artists reach that next level in their artistic endeavour.

For over 30 years, Adam Simmons has been performing, touring, composing, recording and promoting his own music and art as well as collaborating with many other artists and curating events and festivals across different genres.

As a result, Adam has developed skills, understanding and networks across all areas of the music industry and is increasingly in demand for his unique perspective. He is proudly Australian but with international connections and vision.

TUoA aims to inform, support and connect artists so they can do what they do best - create art!

Mentoring

sharing skills, knowledge & understanding

TUoA offers one-on-one mentoring with a view to empowering artists through sharing skills, knowledge and understanding. TUoA’s aim is to support artists who are looking to deepen their engagement in both their art and community.

Mentoring is a shared journey of questioning, discovery and reflection. A relationship of trust and support is built in order to challenge and shift thinking beyond the known and familiar. Broadening perspective to see the bigger picture can help to find ways to concentrate one’s efforts to move forward with greater clarity.

Adam’s experience as a mentor has been both informal and formally through programs such as Music Omi, NewMusic: LAB and Play Your Part. He has benefitted personally from mentoring and is passionate about the value of sharing experiences in order to benefit the wider community.

Grant Writing & Advice

learning how to fish

Artists these days are expected to be entrepreneurs, which means taking responsibility for the organising and resourcing of their own projects. Funding - both private and public - is used at all levels of the industry to support all kinds of endeavour: creation, development, presentation and evaluation.

TUoA can help navigate the various funding options and processes, from initial planning and advice through to working side by side to complete an application. The aim is to impart knowledge from Adam’s experience as both applicant and peer assessor to help you “learn to fish”.

Adam has successfully received funding for personal projects and on behalf of Wangaratta Festival of Jazz & Blues, Festival of Slow Music and Melbourne Jazz Fringe Festival from funding avenues including:

Arts Consultancy

Events, TOuring, Advocacy & more

Sometimes its helpful to get a helping hand, a little advice or just be told you’re on the right track…

Sometimes you’re looking for someone with a unique overview and connections to the music industry…

TUoA can offer workshops and personalised assistance at all levels through its consultancy service, which is informed by Adam’s experiences from organising gigs, leading ensembles, promoting and booking tours, and directing festivals. Adam’s experience also includes being on various advisory panels, non-profit boards and advocating for the arts.

I have known Adam for some time and found him to have an in-depth understanding of the general music landscape and the opportunities for artists who are seeking support to expand their offerings and reach.
